A Letter to my Pastor...and yours.
Apr 14, 2020

Dear Pastor,

Life as a believer comes with many challenges. You know probably better than me the validity of that. You do such a great job making our church feel like the church that when we can't be there it hurts and it's tough. My children are excited to see you online, but they miss their bible teachers too.

I know you are busy right now trying to meet the needs of your congregants. I know you are taking care of your family and we all see that you do such a good job at protecting them. Our husbands see it too and we all love you all the more for it.

Thank you for staying ahead of the curve with technology. Thank you for working diligently to make sure we an still see you and hear your teachings.

We feel like the building is home and in some ways you sort of feel like a parent to us. We might complain about what you expect from us, but we believe you know what's best and we will do what you say because we know your heart is aligned with God's. You always take us straight to His Word and there are no words to express our gratefulness for your faithfulness to truth...His truth!

Thank you for hugging us mamas who have lost our babies. Thank you for encouraging husbands to be faithful to their wives, even with their eyes. God used you to save our marriage once and you may never even know it. God uses you weekly to help mold us into better humans.

Thank you for accepting our late night phone call when tragedy struck. Thank you for sacrifcing your family time because God has called you to be our pastor.

Thank you for your weekly jokes and sentiments about the news.

Thank you for helping me check in my children when I walked into church alone. So much of what you do goes unnoticed. The details are more than I will ever know, but for what I do know, I am eternally grateful.

Signed,

Your sheep...well, His sheep, entrusted to you.

This letter was written by Nickole Perry co-founder of Cedar Creek Ministries. It was written to all her pastors really as she took moments with all of them and even stories she thought of about others as she was writing. But a special shout out must go to all the Calvary Chapel Oceanside pastors, past and present because she has never really been a Christian anywhere else and they have all been so instrumental in her growth and walk with the Lord. There are a couple other pastors "mentioned" here who are just so pastoral even if you don't go to their church. You may or may not know who you are, but thank you.
