Mission Breakdown Part 1
Jul 13, 2020

The Need:

You have probably seen it on every Cedar Creek Ministries piece of literature and email we’ve sent out. We are creating a place for pastors and ministry leaders to go with their families to rest, restore and revive.

But what does it mean?

First, let me share with you why we chose “personalized hospitality” for ministry leaders.

Year after year I watched my friends and faithful servants work all year on the annual women’s retreat. They delegated people, worked in their giftings, teachers were chosen, worship was planned, decorations were made and 1000 other tiny details and prayers went into every aspect of the many cherished events.

Family camps, women’s conferences, Christmas and Friendship Teas. They are all amazing, but what you don’t necessarily see is all the man power and work that went into making these events successful.

Pastors are working crazy hours, often every day of the week because they know they are called to be the caretakers of the people the Lord has giving to them. It's admirable, but the general congregation can do more!

The truth is 20% of the church is doing the work for 80% of congregations. Servants are tired. This is noticeable if you are paying attention and actively involved in your church.

But the other statistics for pastor’s specifically are even more disheartening. Just the first 2 statistics in the are enough to make us want to serve the ones who are shepherding God’s sheep.

72% of the pastors report working between 55 to 75 hours per week.

84% of pastors feel they are on call 24/7.

80% believe pastoral ministry has negatively affected their families. Many pastor's children do not attend church now because of what the church has done to their parents.

Which brings us back to how we have seen the need for pastor’s and ministry leaders to have a place they can go at little to no cost to them, to rest, restore and revive.

If almost ⅔ of pastors are working over 50 hours a week they have to be tired. If their job is 24/7 they are in need of some time away.

Cedar Creek Ministries can help. You can get involved too! Help carry the weight of the burden of this knowledge by making a difference in your pastors life! Take this knowledge and let it make you a more considerate person! Think. Act. Serve.

Thank you so much for sharing your time with us. Did you know it will only take 20,000 Christians donating $100 each to fund our facilities project?! Be 1 of the 15,950 left to help us achieve our vision!
